The Bramblett Group has a surprise in the making for the community of Henderson. As you enter downtown from West Main Street, you will see a mural being done on the wall of the Bramblett Group’s building.
The Brambletts have been dreaming of getting a mural, and once they bought the current building 4 years ago, they knew they were closer to their goal.
“We always envisioned a mural downtown,” Dawn Bramblett said.
The mural will be done by Loralea Landrum of Beech Bluff, Tenn.
Landrum has been an artist practically her whole life.
At the age of 12, she was even offered to go to art school for her painting while she would also do high school, however, she was too young to live in the dormitories at the school. She then left home due to undesirable home conditions and traveled the nation all the way to California in search of an art school she could attend, but she was too young at all of the other schools as well.
Now though, she is still able to do what she loves for a living as she paints murals and oil paintings for different businesses and communities.
“It has allowed me to be very fortunate to follow where the wind blows and make a living doing what I love,” Landrum said.
“She has amazing talents and a heart so big,” Dawn said. “We’re thrilled she was willing to share her talents with the community. This may not be the end of her work in Henderson.”
Dawn hopes that the mural serves the community in multiple ways.
“Our goal is that it ties in as a way to support neighbors in our community,” she said. “We hope it welcomes people to downtown, draws people to downtown and serves its neighbors.”
Landrum’s goal is that the mural will be finished within the next two weeks.
