Now that summer is in full swing, grilling season is alive and well. Who doesn’t love the smell and taste of a juicy burger or steak on the grill? Tennessee Beef Industry Council celebrates July as Beef Month. The Beef industry is the largest single sector of American agriculture and vital to Tennessee’s economy.
Chester County is well populated with Beef cattle farms. The producers do a tremendous job caring for these animals providing a safe product that arrives on your table. This Friday, July 26, will be Beef Promotional Day at the Henderson Farmers Market. 4-H members of the Chester County Livestock Club will be on site educating consumers on the benefits of eating beef. They also plan to be grilling out delicious mouth- watering burgers later in the morning. For the price of $5, one can get a meal with drinks and chips included. All proceeds go the Chester County 4-H Livestock Club. Make plans to visit the Henderson Farmers Market this Friday for Beef Day. They have lots of giveaways and maybe even a few surprises that they are keeping a secret. The Market opens at 7 a.m. every Friday, stays open until at least 1 p.m. They ask the customers to come early and often to make sure they get all the fresh produce, meats and other goodies before they run out.
