Ginger Snaps

Ingredients

¾ C shortening

1 C brown sugar

¼ C molasses or honey

1 egg

2 ¼ C flour

2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp ginger

1 tsp cinnamon

½ tsp cloves

Directions

  • Cream together shortening, brown sugar, molasses or honey and egg until light and fluffy.
  • Sift together dry ingredients, then stir into molasses mixture until blended.
  • Form into small balls.
  • Roll in granulated sugar and place 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet immediately.
