The Freed-Hardeman Lions golf team shot a 303 for the second time in the tournament to place in fifth at the AMC Championship on Tuesday, May 7, at Cape Girardeau, Mo..
Hudson Huber led the way for the Lions with a tournament-score of 216 – an even-par score thru 54 holes – putting him in second place alone for the championship.
The senior birdied three of the four par fives in his final round and continued to shoot well on the par threes, making a par on all four to stay two-under-par on those holes.
Dalton Thomasson continued his strong play this spring with a 73 of his own, giving him a 222 for the tournament, five-over-par. He made four birdies in his final round and finished inside the top 10 in ninth place alone.
John Parigger shot a 76 in the final round of his first conference tournament, doing so in all three rounds and finishing in 16th.
Zane Johnson rounded out the scoring for the Lions, shooting an 81 in his final round. Cooper Mays shot a second-straight 84.
Huber capped off his senior season by being named First-Team All AMC.
He was consistently inside the top five in the conference in average scoring, averaging just over 74 strokes per round. He had two first-place finishes and three top-3 finishes in his senior year.
Thomasson was named to the Second Team in the conference after a very strong spring semester. He had a top-five finish and averaged right at 74 strokes in the semester.
