BBQ Festival wraps up 42nd season

According to the Henderson Chester Chamber of Commerce, the 42nd Annual Chester County BBQ Festival was a tremendous success. The festival serves as the Chamber’s largest fundraiser.

The chamber of commerce is a non-profit 501c6 organization and funds raised from the festival will be invested into chamber programs like Leadership Chester County, Chester County Imagination Library, economic and workforce development programs and much more.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Emily Johnson said, “We are so thankful for all of the sponsors, volunteers, and patrons of the festival.

“We love hosting the community’s largest event each September. We are always overwhelmed by local support.”

The chamber served the equivalent of over 11,000 barbecue sandwiches, plus chickens and ribs. There were around 40 vendors on Main Street and the childrenÆs area on the courthouse lawn.

Channing Carroll, Membership and Events Coordinator for the chamber said, “Thank you to our BBQ Festival committee for all their hard work for several months planning the festival and we are grateful to the community for the support.”

During the talent show, the youth talent show winners were: 1st place Madison Belle, 2nd place Hunt Pipkin and 3rd place Cutter Franks.

In the adult category 16 and up the winners were: 1st place Aubrey Rodriguez, 2nd place went to the duo of guitarist Myles Shelton and singer Wes Magee and 3rd place went to Issac Stewart.

On Saturday, September 28, the annual Pig Trot commenced in front of Noxcuse Fitness on Front St. The race was sponsored by FirstBank and all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
