The Chester County volleyball team started off the district tournament strong Monday night against Bolivar. They did so well that Bolivar didn’t even win a single set.

“We needed that game under our belt,” Head Coach Susan Humphry said.

Humphry says that the team is ôback on trackö with their starter Alaina Cooper being back after being out about 7 games with a concussion.

“Her leadership is back. She’s ready to be back.

So we’re playing well,ö she said.

“Excellent communication” was also a key component to their victory according to Humphry.

“We had a few really great practices where they are working together, talking more and building team chemistry, and thatÆs the key for us,” she said.

The team played McNairy in the district semifinals on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Depending on that outcome, if they win, they automatically go to the regional round, because the top two teams move forward. The district championship game will be held tonight, Thursday, Oct. 10.
