We had a wonderful week here at Jacks Creek Elementary School!
Kindergarten had a fantastic week.
A few skills we worked on include blending/reading CVC words, sight words, addition and 3-D shapes. Thank you to everyone who helped with and participated in our Fall Festival on Nov. 2. Thank you to the families who were able to come out and participate in our “Save the Farm” family night.
Students had lots of fun pretending to find all the animals that had escaped.
It was another busy week in first grade. We continued reading about Early American Civilizations and continued on our reading adventures with Gran, Jen and Josh. In writing, we read and wrote about being thankful. In math, we finished up our unit on measurement and began learning about place value. Thank you to everyone who came out to help us save the farm! We all worked hard to prepare for the event. In second grade we continue to show a great work ethic daily!
In third grade we read and learned about the Native Americans of North America. We will continue to study the differences in their regions, cultures and ways of life as we move into this time of Thanksgiving. In math, we began our unit on finding area. Please continue to check out our daily work from our folders to see what we are learning and please help us practice our mixed facts in multiplication. We now will be working more toward fluency of these facts.
We are so thankful for all of the students who were royalty and helped raise money for our school for our fall festival! Here are our winners:
For K-first grade: Third Duchess – Addison Stoneman, Third Duke – Nolan Elway, Second Duchess – Alexis Anderson, Second Duke – Logan Miller, First Duchess – Raelynn Copeland, First Duke – Gunner Reed, Princess – Alaina Clayton and Prince – Luke Verduzco.

Thank you to all who helped make the Fall Festival a success! Because of you we raised a great amount to help our school! Thank you to our PSO Officers for the countless hours they put in as well! We are very appreciative of their hard work!
Our Farmer of the Week goes to Caitlin Dickey, whose favorite book is the Bible and favorite food is chicken. We are proud to have this student shine brightly at our school! Our Staff Farmer of the Week goes to Charity Cook! Her favorite book is the Bible, and her favorite food is homemade tacos. We appreciate all that she does for our school as one of our second grade teachers.
Please collect Box Tops! Each Box Top equals 10 cents for our school.
This is an EASY way for us to earn money for JCES! Our goal is to raise $700. Everyone can help us reach this goal!
Coats for Kids Drive: Donations of new or gently used coats and jackets will be accepted through the month of November.
