Children at Once Upon A Time Mothers’ Day Out Program have been celebrating fall in recent weeks, with a Fall Festival and Thanksgiving meal complete with games, prizes and pumpkin pie- in-a-bag.
“We have enjoyed the changing of the season and welcomed fall with our First Annual Fall Festival and Pumpkin’ Chunkin’,” said Owner/Director Yvette Messenger. “We celebrated an early Thanksgiving making pilgrim hats, reading about the first Thanksgiving, making Pumpkin Pie in a bag and a family-style meal with the children.”
“We have enjoyed our first year serving the parents and children of Chester County,” she continued. “We appreciate all the support and donations we have received.”
A number of pint-sized chefs were also kind enough to share their own tips for preparing the Thanksgiving Turkey. If you do have a question or concern about preparing your own bird this Thanksgiving, you might want to check with the experts over at the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 1-888-674-6854. Food safety experts will be available from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eastern Time on Thanksgiving Day. See Page 7-A for expert advice on preparing the perfect turkey.
