NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt, Jr. makes pit stop at Freed-Hardeman University

Famed NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was the guest speaker at Freed-Hardeman University’s 55th Benefit Dinner Friday night. The annual event raised $1.3 million that will go to the endowment scholarship fund. Earnhardt spent close to an hour answering questions raised by FHU President David Shannon. He talked of his successes on the track, his famed father Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and growing up in the sport. He also spoke of concussions he experienced while driving, which eventually led to his early retirement. Ernhardt recounted his many accomplishments on and off of the racetrack but said that his top priority going forward is to be a good father and role model to his 18-month-old daughter.
