The Chester County Eagles may have had an unfortunate loss against North Side 78-60 on Tuesday Dec. 17 and another loss Saturday Dec. 21, but they still got a win in between the two “L’s.”
They beat the Baldwyn Bearcats Friday Dec. 20, 55-53.
The first quarter consisted of the two teams switching leads back and forth.
The Eagles pushed ahead though in the second quarter.
After being down at the end of the first, 15-13, the Eagles went into halftime with a safe lead of 33-22.
During the third, they kept the lead until the fourth quarter with a score of 44-36.
The last quarter was definitely a battle fought from both teams as it included multiple tying shots.
For a moment, it seemed as if the Bearcats would win, but one had to sit until the very end on this game.
With under a minute left, the Eagles were down 53-52, but with 6.7 seconds remaining, Dalton Colbert puts up the winning 3-point shot making it 55-53. Then, the Eagles held them for the win.
“I’m really proud of the kids,” Head Coach Kody Howard said. “The kids were ready to go for the first time from the tip… They found a way to win down the stretch even though Baldwyn tried to take it from them.”
