with Vickie Ellis
Hello to all! I hope it has been a good week for you. The weather has been up and down with rain and strong wind, but after the rain, the beautiful blue skies and white clouds appeared. Such blessings.
This next week, everyone should be prepared for extreme cold the first of the week with things warming up again toward the end of the week. We are having a few more birds but not enough to our liking.
I hope those that had the benefit of another holiday enjoyed the extra day off work and school for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. I also hope that it helped those who are sick get over their illness. There are many still getting the flu and upper respiratory problems. I know of a mother, husband and one year old baby who have the whooping cough. They are taking medicine for that illness and slowly improving. The whooping cough is a highly contagious bacterial infection and is airborne. Please remember to cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough, preferably into the elbow of your sleeve. Wash your hands often, or use antibacterial gel. I use the wipes available at store entrances to clean my basket handles. You can never be too cautious.
It seems crafting is picking up speed. I see many new ideas out there. A chunky afghan, Valentine trees and gnomes just to name a few. There are many talented people out there. I did buy a few things to help perk the place up a bit. James can do a lot of things, such as build tables, and is very good with detail work. There were a lot of people out shopping Saturday despite the weather.
We enjoyed food and fellowship at our community club Friday night. We also played cards and enjoyed having our grandson Braxton Ellis go and play. He is good at the game.

“My Boy” by Diane Ranker Riesen – “I glanced back twice – with tear filled eyes/when I heard that sweet baby’s cries/I turned around to look once more/just like so many times before/A mother’s grief compares to none/and times of pain are never done/But, my child held God’s soul inside/and with that truth…he never died/I hear his whispers in the air/I feel his fingers – in my hair/And though he can’t live now, with me/He gives me gentle signs to see/I hear his laughter in each song/and sense him close – he’s never gone/With every gift he brings to me/I know he’s happy, calm, and free/What joy my heart will one day feel/when I can hold him: strong and real/Eternity will never end/and we will never part again!”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please call me at 983-0718 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area are ‘hungry’ for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
