News from the Enville Community of Chester County

with Jan Johnson

Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a good week. This weather is something else. The river is out of its banks, and flooding is occurring. Our river lots are flooded once again. I am praying that it will not be as bad as it was last February, but it is looking kinda like it. So many have just recovered from that devastation, and more rain is in the forecast this week. God, please have mercy on everyone who lives on or has vacation homes on the beautiful Tennessee River.
On a lighter note, Valentine’s Day is Friday. I hope you get that box of chocolates, flowers or dinner on this special day! I, personally, love chocolate covered strawberries. They are wonderful, so I am kinda throwing a hint out there!
Presidents’ Day is Monday, Feb. 17. Officially Washington’s birthday, Presidents’ Day is celebrated on the third Monday in February. It is a federal holiday to honor George Washington and Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, but it also honors all the presidents who have served in the United States. Schools and federal offices are closed on this day! Chester County Schools also are closed Friday for Parent/Teacher Conferences. They will have a four day weekend.
Enville sends out happy birthday wishes to Michael Frank on Feb. 14, Randi Baxter on Feb. 17, Tony Murphy on Feb. 18 and Jackie Hutcherson and Lynn Canaday on Feb. 20. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for the Clenney family, and continue prayers for Jean Crowell, Christy and Linda Phillips, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Deb Finley, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Jo Marie Holmes, Danny and Janice Keen, Harold and Janice Maness, Casey Pratt, Niecie Pearson, Florence Stublaski, Tim Harris, Ann Vanhoose, Dennis Harwell, Steve Denbow, Martha Alexander, Doris Weeks, Roger and Sue Henson, those who have lost loved ones, our military, law enforcement, first responders and firefighters, those with the flu and suffering from the virus epidemic and, as always, each other.
If you have news, call 688-5129, or if you want to rent the community center, call 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone.
