LEE NELL KING Obituary – Oct. 26, 1932 – Feb. 12, 2020   


Lee Nell Lurlene Stanfill King, 87, of Henderson passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 12, 2020 at Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating.
Burial followed in New Friendship Cemetery.
The family received friends at East Main Chapel from 4-8 p.m. on Friday.
She was born Oct. 26, 1932 in Chester County, the daughter of the late Hallie Tenry and Myrtle Lavon Peddy Stanfill. She attended schools in Chester County and was a 1950 graduate of Chester County High School.
She married Lloyd Houston King on Aug. 18, 1951 in Corinth, Miss. They were married 67 years when he passed away on Jan. 15, 2019.
She was a retired Dietician for the Chester County Junior High School. 
She loved working with genealogy and was a past member of D.A.R. and a member of the Chester County Historical Society. She was the original writer of New Friendship Community News in the Chester County Independent.
She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church and a cancer survivor and had been active in Relay for Life. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she especially loved all of her grandchildren. 
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Connor of Jacks Creek; one son, Jerry Lloyd (Lisa) King of Henderson; four grandchildren, Randy Connor, Lane (Jenny) Wise, Emily (Tracy) Connor Harris and Adam (Ashlee) Wise; and six great-grandchildren, Hank Wise, Maggie Wise, Alixis Wise, Thomas Harris, Ely Harris and LacyAnn Harris.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd King; a son-in-law, Tommy Connor; one sister, LaVerne Lott; and a grandson, Tyler Dunivan.
