R. C. SCHWARTZ Obituary – May 31, 1923 – Feb. 16, 2020  


Robert Charles Schwartz, Sr., 96, of Henderson passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services will be  Saturday, Feb. 22, at Lakeview Cemetery in Winters, Texas, with Colquitt Nash and David Mickey officiating. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson in charge of local arrangements.
He was born May 31, 1923 in Crews, Texas, the son of the late Charles William and Ruby Berd Cox Schwartz. He graduated high school in Winters, Texas, and received a mechanical engineering degree from Texas Tech University. 
He married Velma Carol Stumbo in 1946, and they made their home in Lubbock, Texas, area. She preceded in death in 1960. He was district engineer for Anderson Clayton Paymaster Division and Continental Moss Gordon Cotton Gin Equipment and later Johnson Manufacturing in Lubbock. He retired from Consolidate Horne & Gladden.
He married Lois Williams in 1961, and they made their home in the Lubbock/Abilene area and retired to Kingsland, Texas. Mrs. Schwartz preceded in death in 2005.
He served as a deacon and elder at the University Church of Christ in Lubbock.
He moved to Henderson in 2018 to make his home with Paul and Mary Lane. He attended the Estes Church of Christ.        
He is survived by two sons, Dr. Robert Charles (Debbie) Schwartz of Dallas, Texas, and Dr. Paul Edward (Mary Lane) Schwartz of Henderson; a daughter, Carol Marie (Colquitt) Nash of Lake Stevens, Wash.; one sister, Peggy McAnnally of Abilene, Texas; a sister-in-law, Virginia Schwartz; 12 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymon and Halley Schwartz; and three sisters, Cecil Dean Adami, Imogene Mickey and Aletha Belew.
