Hello everyone! The weather was gorgeous this weekend. The sun was shining, birds were out and my tulip tree had buds on it. I saw a beautiful cardinal first thing Saturday morning, and my husband was so excited to see a robin. There were also several woodpeckers. We do not worry about the woodpeckers as we have a lot of woods around us, and our house is not wood. They are pretty also. We had storms Sunday night into Monday morning. I know God has His reasons for all this rain, but I do hope we do not get any more severe weather and that the ones that are already saturated do not get flooded. Savannah was hit very hard a while back, and some are still trying to rebuild.
News from Mifflin: Rachel Ellington recently was able to visit her family in Huntsville, Ala. She had a weekend visit with her daughter Sherry, Sherry’s husband Greg and her granddaughter Sarah Utley. They went to Auburn, Ala., for a golf tournament that Sarah was to play in on Tuesday, and it was postponed as the golf course was under water. The visit was still worth the trip. She enjoyed visiting with Connor, who is a student at Auburn. It is always nice to get away and enjoy time with family.
I did not know it, but J&J Auction now has an auction every Saturday night starting at 6 p.m. It is held in the old Salant & Salant building. The building is right across from Bells Drive-In. They also have food available to buy if you are hungry.
We enjoyed a birthday celebration Sunday at Catfish Cabin with Sue Williams, her family and friends. I enjoyed meeting the siblings whom I have heard her speak of. It was a great gathering for a dear friend. She turned 80 on March 4, and I sure can not believe it.
Happy Birthday to Dylan Dyer, March 2; Charlotte Webb, Barrett Jones and Sue Williams, March 4; and Emma Greene, March 6.
Happy Anniversary to Kathy and Charles Dyer, March 3, and Amy and Kenneth Williams, March 6.
Remember Daylight Savings Time begins Saturday night at 2 a.m. Turn the clocks ahead before bedtime so you will not be late for church or work.

“New Beginnings” by Helen Steiner Rice – “How often we wish for another chance/to have a fresh beginning/A chance to blot out our mistakes/and change failure into winning/It does not take a new year/to make a brand new start/It only takes the deep desire/to try with all your heart/To live a little better/and to always be forgiving/To add a little sunshine/to the world in which we are living/So, never give up in despair/and think that you are through/For there’s always a tomorrow/and a chance to start anew.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. We are not answering numbers we do not recognize due to the high number of robocalls. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
