Nathean Burress Obituary – Sept. 24, 1999 – March 11, 2020


Nathean Forrest Burress, 20, of Jackson passed away March 11, 2020 at Regional One Trauma Center in Memphis.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Friendship Baptist Church with Les Keen and April Downing officiating.
Burial followed in New Friendship Cemetery. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday and beginning at noon at the church.
He was born on Sept. 24, 1999 in Jackson and grew up in Henderson. He attended Jackson Christian School and graduated from Gateway.
He loved to fish, hunt and ride motorcycles and four wheelers. He was on the Bass Club Team at Jackson Christian School.  His truck was given to him by his grandfather. That truck was his pride and joy.  He enjoyed “fix’n” it up!  He graduated from welding school at McKellar Vocational Technical School in Jackson.
He is survived by his father, Don Burress; his mother, April Reddin Downing; step-father, Wade Downing; a brother, Garrett Downing; one sister, Brylee Downing; his grandparents, Annette Fitzgerald, Anthony (Leisa) Reddin, Bill and Margaret Burress and Brenda Downing; and his great-grandmother, Frances Smith.
