Simmons Street crash injures four


Four teenagers were seriously injured Monday night following a wreck in the 1500 block of Simmons Street. The wreck occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m.
According to the Henderson Police Department report, officers responded to a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival they discovered a Dodge pickup truck in a ditch, laying on its side.
The report said that the vehicle evidently topped a hill, lost control, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway, and traveled along a ditch before striking two trees.
The vehicle had four occupants including the driver. Three were 18 and the other was 17. Two of the occupants were airlifted to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The driver, Asa Sanders, 18, of Henderson, who officers believed was under the influence of alcohol, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving and three counts of reckless endangerment.
