In accordance with the Governor’s Executive Orders, all American Job Centers (AJC’s) in the eight-county Southwest TN Workforce Development Region are closed to the public at this time, according to Southwest Workforce. However, AJC staff are still available to assist employers with inputting job orders and are available to help in advertising and recruiting for employers who are currently hiring. Contact the local AJC for further details.
All AJC partner programs, such as services for Adults, Dislocated Workers, and Youth are still being offered via telephone or internet. On-the-job training, incumbent worker training, and apprenticeship training programs are still available to businesses and industry.
Inquiries regarding unemployment insurance benefits as a result of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 should be directed to the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development at the following web site: https://www.tn.gov/workforce/covid-19/employers.html
Local AJC staff can provide some limited guidance for individuals and employers filing unemployment insurance claims. In the event a question or issue cannot be resolved either through the web site or by local AJC staff, assistance will be provided to route the issue through the proper channels for a resolution.
With a personal message to the local workforce, AJC’s looks toward the future. “Once this crisis is over, AJC staff will be ready and available to assist employers and job seekers with reigniting our economy. Until then, stay vigilant, stay safe and stay well. We are all in this together!”
