News from the Enville Community of Chester County

with Jan Johnson

Hello from Enville. I hope everyone had a great week. It has been so nice outside. The weekend was cool, but the sunshine looked beautiful. Some say the blackberries are blooming now, so maybe we can get the cool weather out of here and get ready for summer. We planted the rest of our garden this week, and we will be ready for some great vegetables later on.
Another month has gone, and May is here. Decorations at various cemeteries will begin soon and Mother’s Day is right around the corner. The Enville Volunteer Fire Department will NOT be having their annual barbecue the Saturday before Mother’s Day due to the circumstances right now. We will miss seeing everyone who always came out in support of our fire department, and we always had our lunch and desserts taken care of. We will have to come up with another plan this year! You can always make a donation to the fire department by mailing it to Danny Johnson, 7230 Main Street, Enville, Tenn. 38332.
The Johnson Cemetery is looking great thanks to a group of folks who have taken over the upkeep. If you would like to contribute, please mail donations to Nancy Kent Freeman, P.O. Box 144, Enville, Tenn. 38332. All donations will be greatly appreciated! Remember to give toward the upkeep of cemeteries where you have loved ones so they can keep them looking good and well maintained.
The Enville Community Club will NOT meet in May. Hopefully, we will be back on schedule for June. I am ready to see you all and enjoy our great meal and fellowship. The Milledgeville Cafe will open up for customers to dine in on May 1. I am sure with some restrictions in place, but it will be good to see our friends again.
Happy birthday wishes go to Donnie Gibbs on May 3, Lucy Ashbrook on May 4, Agnes Tenry Smith on May 5 and Beverly Weatherington and Tarecia Shelton on May 7. Happy Anniversary to Harry and Connie Timmer on May 1, Wayne and Brenda Poupard on May 3 and J.P. and Easton Knight on May 4. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Continue prayers for Jean Crowell, Jo Marie Holmes, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Linda and Christy Phillips, Doris Weeks, Agnes Smith, Niecie Pearson, Mary Lee Guyon, Ann Vanhoose, Dennis Harwell, Genny Sue Martin, Tim Harris, Steve Denbow, Roger and Sue Henson, Neal Brewer, Novelee Massengill, those who have lost loved ones, those affected by the virus, those who have lost of jobs, firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers and, as always, each other.
