Possible CCHS graduation date

June 29 is a prospective date for CCHS Class of 2020 graduation, as proposed by Chester County Director of Schools Troy Kilzer II. He hopes a final decision is made tonight, May 14, at the Chester County Board of Education meeting.

At the Chester County Commission meeting on Monday, May 11, Chester County Director of Schools Troy Kilzer II announced a possible date and location for graduation to occur for the Class of 2020. The possible date of June 29 is the date he will bring to the Chester County Board of Education meeting today, May 14. Kilzer hopes that a definite decision is met at the meeting.
Freed-Hardeman University has offered to let Loyd Auditorium be the location for graduation. Kilzer said that he is very appreciative of FHU President David Shannon for giving possible dates to use the facility. Other proposed dates are later in July.
If current guidelines with a building’s capacity at 50 percent is still in place, Kilzer said that the plan is for each graduate to be given a limited amount of about six tickets for friends or family that they wish to be present, and those in attendance will be spread out across the auditorium.

The CCBOE will also discuss an incentive drawing for educators completing the TDOE Educator Survey, requested board approval of the first draft of 2020-21 General Purpose and Federal Programs Budgets, approval of revisions to CCBOE policies and recommendation for tuition cost for out of county students during the 2020-21 school year.
