Chester County High School celebrates early graduation of classmate joining military

Mackenzie Lynne Smith along with her family, friends and some of the Chester County School District faculty and staff celebrated her graduation early due to her being in military training.

On Thursday, May 14, Chester County High School had a graduation ceremony for Mackenzie Lynne Smith since she will not be able to be present during the commencement for the rest of the class due to her finishing military training for the United States Army to be in the military police.
“We didn’t want to miss the chance to celebrate with Mackenzie and her family,” CCHS Principal Ricky Catlett said.
During the ceremony, she was the first to be announced with a scholarship. She earned the June Smith Scholarship for Education of $1,000.
She plans to go to the University of Tennessee at Martin to major in History.
Smith is the daughter of Jenny Cooper and Jimmy Smith.
