The Coronavirus has put off the seniors of the Class of 2020 celebrating their graduation, but the Chester County Board of Education decided on a date for the graduation commencement ceremony during their monthly meeting, 7 p.m. June 29 at Freed- Hardeman’s Loyd Auditorium.
Currently, there are still no decisions on a baccalaureate service.
Tuition fees for the 2020-21 academic year for out-of-county students will remain the same as it was previously; $600 for one student and $900 for two or more students.
During an update on the East Chester fire that occurred Friday, April 24, due to the fire being an electrical incident, Director of Schools Troy Kilzer II asked all principals of Chester County schools to check their buildings and unplug any devices in order to prevent the incident from happening again. They all did so.
Chester County School District faculty was also spotlighted for earning the WBBJ Educator of the Week Award this academic year.
The winners were Chester County High School’s Jonathan Patel, Mary Hicks, Todd Beaver and East Chester’s Morgan Cunningham.
To win, the educators had to be nominated by students or the community.
