She was born Sept. 2, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Robert and Ava Cooper. She graduated from East Central High School in Tulsa, Okla., she went on to graduate from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1980, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree.
She worked as a clerk in many fields and later became an antiques and collectibles dealer. She was a very talented artist, enjoyed painting and drawing and was very talented in pen and ink. She was very strong in her faith and loved the Lord. She will always be remembered for her outgoing and friendly personality.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Sam Baker; her daughter, Athena (Benton) Baker Beech of Ovett, Miss.; one granddaughter, Courtney Rose Orr; uncles, Frank Ivy and Thomas Ivy of Henderson; two cousins, Lisa Suiter and Shirley Carr; and her best friends, Linda Groat of Tulsa, Okla., and Belinda Graham of Richland, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her uncle, Edwin Ivy.
