I hope you have all had a good week. The weather has finally changed, and the rain has stopped for the time being.
Our flowers and garden are happy to see the sunshine, and so am I. I am sure it will help the farmers. All this heat and rain is sure making the grass grow. We mowed last week, and it is starting to do more than sprout again. Oh well, such is summer. I have seen on television where some places like Arizona do not have grass. They have pebble rocks. I would hate that. I do not want turf grass either. Freshly mowed grass smells so good, and the yard looks very pretty when done. The birds are plentiful. Our yellow finches have returned. We wish we could see more blue finches, but one is better than none. The red winged blackbird is a beauty. I saw my first butterfly today, a yellow one.
We had to make a trip to south Jackson. Some are wearing masks, but many are not. For me, I had rather be safe than sorry. I do not know where all the people have been without masks. This COVID-19 is not over; be watchful of reports. Enjoy the summer, and we will then have to watch for the flu and COVID-19. It is all in God’s hands.
I am just a retired nurse and believe in being cautious. I do get on Facebook and see where many took a short break to the beach for Memorial Day. I am sure it was fun and relaxing. I just hope no one gets sick from it.
Friendship Baptist Church will resume services at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 7. There will be no Sunday School at this time and no Sunday night service. Social distancing will be observed, and we are being asked to enter through the front door. If you desire to wear a mask, you may do so. Masks will be available along with hand sanitizer.

God uses Broken things Beautifully; Broken clouds pour rain; Broken soil sets as fields; Broken crop yields seeds; Broken seeds give life to new plants. So when you feel you are Broken, rest assured that God is planning to utilize you for something great.
Dear Lord, sometimes life does not make sense. We do not understand what You are doing or why You allow certain things to happen. We are grateful that we can look to You. We do not have the answers, but You do. We do not know the way through this, but You do. Thank You for watching over us and for leading us and guiding us. Thank You for being our source of help and strength. Lord, our heart is heavy, and we are weary. Please refresh and renew us as we wait on You. In Jesus’ name we ask these things. Amen.
