The Library Lowdown

Library Reopening
We have devised a 5 (five) stage reopening plan for the library. As of June 1, 2020, we are in phase three which allows patrons to enter the library and use the computers with a one hour time limit, and we have resumed ILL services (Interlibrary Library Loan). We hope to go to phase four later this month. All returned items are being quarantined for 72 hours before being shelved and/or redistributed. Please see our Facebook page or website for the full reopening plan and more information.
Mystery Bags of Books
We understand and realize that many are still uncomfortable getting out and about, especially with children. As a way to ensure you can get books for your children, we are now offering Mystery Bags! This service is available for children (ten books), juveniles (five books), and young adults (five books). A librarian will select a variety of books for your child based on age, grade level, and male or female! Call or message us to get one today!
Summer Reading Program
The show must go on! Beginning June 2, 2020, the library will have a Facebook Live storytime each Tuesday at 10 am that has a theme specific to our Summer Reading Program. This year’s theme is “Imagine Your Story!” We do have a few virtual events happening this month so please check out our calendar, Facebook page or website. We have two competitions for school children this year, a LEGO creation contest and a ‘tell your story’ contest. Stop by the library for more information.
Changes to the Library
While we were closed, library staff went through ALL of the children, juvenile, and young adult sections and got the reading level and AR points listed on each book that has it available. We now have an adult graphic novel section! This section includes biographies, non-fiction and fiction books that are in graphic novel format!
