Hello from Enville.
I hope everyone had a great week. We had some pretty weather with a little rain Monday, which our garden really needed. It was getting dry.
Flag Day will be on Sunday, June 14. In 1885, Bernard Cigrand, a small-town Wisconsin teacher, originated the idea for an annual flag day to be celebrated across the country every June 14. That year, he led his school in the first formal observation of the holiday. To me, the American flag means freedom and national pride. Our flag, which we honor and celebrate, reminds us to respect our country and our individual rights. It is not there just so we can salute it. The flag was made to stand for our independence and rights.
Summer begins on June 20. A lot of folks have been anticipating this season. I like summer, but my favorites are spring and fall. Summertime has a lot to offer – camps, ball games, swimming, camping, vacations or just getting together with family. I hope everyone enjoys their summer!
Father’s Day is just around the corner, so do not forget dad on his special day!
Happy birthday to Danny Keen on June 13, Nash Ray Brewer on June 14, Janice Maness on June 15, Shane Johnston on June 16, Mary Lou Advent on June 17 and Holly Robertson on June 18. Happy anniversary to Richard and Melissa Maness on June 16 and Jack and Tera O’Neal on June 17. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Continue prayers for Lisa Bishop, Charlie Kent, Jack O’Neal, Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Doris Weeks, Jo Marie Holmes, Agnes Smith, Linda Phillips, Jean Crowell, Christy Phillips, Ann Vanhoose, Dennis Harwell, Tim Harris, Neal Brewer, Kristen Daniel, Mary Lee Guyon, Niecie Pearson, Genny Sue Martin, Steve Denbow, everyone who has lost loved ones, our country, all those affected by the rioting, those affected by the virus, our firefighters, first responders and law enforcement and, as always, each other.
