Deputies responded to a report of vandalism at New Friendship Baptist Church on New Friendship Road. According to the report, it appeared that the outside church sign had been shot multiple times.

Joshua Brent Willis, 26, pled guilty to class E felony statutory rape and was sentenced to two years in a TDOC facility at 30 percent prior to release eligibility, receiving credit for time served pretrial, a minimum of 75 percent service prior to eligibility for work release, furlough, trusty status or rehabilitative programs, all suspended and supervised by Community Corrections. He was ordered to pay costs and $250 in fines. He is to have no contact with victim until otherwise established by parenting plan per Tennessee Code, and is not required to register as a sex offender. Willis also pled guilty to class C felony tampering with evidence. He was sentenced to three years in a TDOC facility at 30 percent prior to release eligibility, with credit for time served pretrial, a minimum of 75 percent service prior to eligibility for work release, furlough, trusty status or rehabilitative programs, all suspended and supervised by Community Corrections. He was ordered to pay costs and $500 in fines. All counts are concurrent.
