DAN GUINN Obituary – Feb. 7, 1966 – July 7, 2020


Dan McCain Guinn IV, 54, of Henderson, departed this life on July 7, 2020.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Shane Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Henderson City Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
He was born Feb. 7, 1966, son of the late Dan McCain Guinn III and Ann Averitt Guinn. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1984. As a teenager, he worked in his father’s grocery store, Guinn’s Supermarket in Henderson.
He attended Jackson State Community College and began working at Procter and Gamble in Jackson Nov. 26, 1984, which was later purchased by Kellogg’s. During his 35 years at the manufacturing facility, he worked as a plant technician and was a loyal employee that rarely missed work.  He served on the fire brigade and was a first responder and mentor to many.  He had recently started working at Sonoco June 2020.
He was well known for his sense of humor and love for pranks. He was an obsessive cleaner that kept all his possessions organized and pristine. He loved shopping and travelling locally, boating, working in the yard and spending time with his grandson. He was most proud of his daughters, but the light of his life was his grandson, Easton Tritt Fincher
He is survived by his wife, Amy Rowland Guinn; daughters, Kaela (fiancé Colton Autry) McCain Guinn and Mallee Elizabeth (Noah) Fincher; grandson, Easton Tritt Fincher; step-children, Houston (Katie) Tull and Scarlett Tull; grandson, Hudson Grey Tull; in-laws, Jackie and Linda Rowland; sister, Mary Ann Guinn; and numerous coworkers that he considered his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Lattie Averitt and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Guinn.
