Wayne Clayton Obituary – Sept. 5, 1949 – Aug. 4, 2020


Wayne Clayton, 70 Years, 10 Months, 30 Days, departed this life on Aug. 4, 2020 in Finger.
Memorial services were held at 6 p.m. Aug. 6 at First Baptist Church in Bethel Springs with Bro. James Towery and Bro. Howard Kitter officiating.  
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriner’s Children Hospital.
He was born Sept. 5, 1949 in Bethel Springs, the son of the late Cecil and Robbie Redmon Clayton.
He was united in marriage to Sandra Johnson on March 16, 1968. He started farming in 1968 and has been farming ever since. A well-respected man both in the community and farming community, he was a hard worker  who was a great provider for his family. He loved his wife, children and especially his grandchildren. He was a member of First Baptist Church – Bethel Springs for over 40 years and served as Deacon for many years. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, family values, and love.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Clayton of Finger; a daughter, Stacey (Tedford) Moore of Finger; two sons, Jamey (Lisa) Clayton of Finger and Kyle (Alisha) Clayton of Finger; one sister, Carolyn (Jerry) Thomas of Henderson; nine grandchildren, Rachel (Nathan) Kimbrell, Rebecca (Cody) Lipford, Kelcey (Albert) Hutcherson, Robin Moore, Clayton Moore, Annalise Clayton, Cash Clayton, Emersyn Clayton and Branch Clayton; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Hutch Hutcherson; mission family, Zully Romanuik and her family; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kelly Clayton Amerson; one sister, Donna (Leon) Lofton; and a brother, Mike Clayton.
