Greetings from Deanburg. These weeks roll by so fast.
Wishing Gina Tully a happy birthday on Aug. 27; Addison Ross is celebrating on Aug. 28. More birthdays for this week are Breanna Landers on Aug. 29, Shane Burkeens on Aug. 30 and Jake Weaver on Aug. 31. That finishes out the birthdays for August!
Prayers please for these : Kristen Carlton Jones, Tim Landers, Brianna Landers, Gary Hyatt, Jim Ruth, Eloise Murley, Samantha Mosier, Woodie Deming, and my cousin Barbara Sue Mitchell. Woodie and I visited my cousin Barbara Saturday in Rutherford. She is hospice now. It was so sad to see her like that. She is just sleeping most of the time because, as you know, when it is that bad all they can do is try to make her comfortable. I was glad that Woodie was able to go even though it was hard on him.
A quote from Thomas A. Kempis: “Whatsoever I can desire or imagine for my comfort: I look for it not here, but hereafter. For if I might alone have all the comforts of the world and enjoy all its delights: it is certain that they could not long endure.”
Romans 8:18 says, “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present times are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” These are from Light for My Path: Illuminating Selections from the Bible. A dear friend Evelyn Hearn who passed from this earth in 2010 gave me this book not long before she died. She and her family of three boys lived near us growing up. She told me I was the daughter she never had. I miss her so much.
With so much illness going around, please let me know if there is someone you would like to put on my prayer list. Just about all of us know someone that has had COVID or have had it ourselves, and these folks need prayer. I praise God my family has not had it, except for a nephew.
Have a safe, happy, healthy week. God blessings on each of you. (731-879-9777)
