Four Chester County 4-H students recently competed in the Western Region 4-H Show. The event was held at Triple P Arena in Decaturville on August 14-15. The region consists of 33 counties in west and middle Tennessee.
Representing Chester County Middle School 4-H was the brother tandem of Chris and Will Davis. This was their first 4-H show, they competed in the junior barrel racing and finished sixth and seventh place on Friday evening. Great job guys in a very competitive class.
Paige Lofton from Chester County Junior High 4-H collected two trophies on Saturday morning. Paige competed last year in this competition and was out for redemption this year in her favorite event the Hunter Hack class. This is the only jumping class held at our 4-H show. Paige brought home the first place trophy this year, she also finished second place in Hunter Seat Equitation.
Alayna Williams, also from Chester County Junior High 4-H was making her first trip to the Western Region 4-H Show. Competing on Friday evening Alayna showed out with two great runs in her two events. Taking the first place trophy in Junior Pole Bending, she had the overall best time in the event and would have beat all the senior competitors as well. Alayna barely missed by a hair winning her second event, Junior Barrel Racing and ended up finishing second place.
