Oden’s Marathon pays penalty

Following the Henderson Mayor and Board of Aldermen meeting on Thursday Oct. 8, the Henderson Beer Board met after an employee at Oden’s Marathon sold alcoholic beverages to a minor. The employee was caught during random checks by the Henderson Police Department.
Robert Allen, owner of Oden’s Marathon represented the business.
“I’m embarrassed about it. I let one slip through the cracks,” he said.
He mentioned how the employee had only been there for about three weeks.
The Henderson Beer Board gave him the option of either paying a $1,500 civil penalty or the business having their alcohol selling permit suspended for 30 days.
Allen chose to pay the penalty.
