JIM SEDBERRY Obituary – April 19, 1944 – Jan. 3, 2021


Jimmie Jarrett Sedberry, 76, of Henderson passed away Jan. 3, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Silerton Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in Silerton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
He was born April 19, 1944 in Pine Bluff, Ark., the son of Norma Jean Siler Sedberry and the late Rupert Jordan Sedberry, Jr. He graduated from Barberton High School in Barberton, Ohio, in 1962. He married Mary McAlpin in 1984. They made their home in Chester County where they managed Chickasaw State Park Restaurant for over 20 years. He was a member of the Silerton Baptist Church.
He loved gardening and working in the yard. He was an avid reader and enjoyed his dog, Opie.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou McAlpin Sedberry of Henderson; his mother, Norma Jean Siler Sedberry; two sons, Jimmie Sedberry of Destin, Fla., and Chuck (Taryne) Sedberry of Jacksons Gap, Ala.; a stepdaughter, Pamela Ross of Bethel Springs; five grandchildren, Chas Sedberry, Carson Sedberry, Lang Goolsby, Hunter Ross and Ty Ross; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce (Jerry) Barker of Humboldt.
