Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a great week!
We got a little snow on Monday. It was so pretty falling, but it just did not last long and was not near enough, so now I am ready for it to warm up a little. These highs in the 30s are too cold.
Monday, Jan. 18, is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. It is U.S. federal holiday celebrating the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and it is observed on the third Monday of January each year. King’s birthday is Jan. 15. The holiday is similar to holidays set under the Uniform Monday Holiday Act. There will be celebrations honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and what he stood for all across the nation. Some of these will be held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and some will be held with social distancing observed and masks worn. Federal workers, as well as some schools, will have the day off.
Enville sends out Happy Birthday wishes to William Ashbrook and Tim Knight on Jan. 15. We remember our sweet little friend, Christy Phillips, whose birthday was Jan. 15 also!
Please continue praying for Jean Crowell, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Doris Weeks, Lisa Bishop, Dean Hutcherson, Amanda Johnson, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Jo Marie Holmes, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Robert Smith, Jimmy Robertson, Inez Cash, Genny Sue Martin, Paulette Pugh, Loretta Plunk, Joann Jones, Pastor Jim Osborne, Billy and Joan Massey, Tim Harris, Wayne Bethune, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement and healthcare workers, those affected by the virus and other illnesses and, as always, each other.
If you have news to share, call me at 688-5129, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone!
