AVES CLAYTON Obituary – Dec. 23, 1946 – Feb. 28, 2021


Aves George Clayton, 74, of Enville passed away Feb. 28, 2021 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Mike Cothren officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday.
He was born Dec. 23, 1946 in the Hickory Corner Community of Chester County, the son of the late Odell and Georgia Patterson Clayton. He was Deputy Sheriff in Chester County for eight years. He then began working as a self-employed drywall contractor. His business was Clayton Construction. He married Debra Stanley on June 24, 1993.
He enjoyed hanging out with his buddies and enjoyed working and staying busy.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Stanley Clayton of Enville; three sons, Davey Allen (Jennifer) Clayton of Pickwick, Darrell Ruth Clayton of Alabama and Adam Tyler Clayton of Bethel Springs; a daughter, Amanda Leigh Clayton of Selmer; one stepson, Jason (Lisa) Stanley of Henderson; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Dennis Clayton, Frank Clayton, Guy Ray Clayton and Paul Clayton all of Henderson; and four sisters, Evelyn Weaver of Jackson, Mayrene Miller, Phyllis Holmes and Kathy Meek all of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Gerald Clayton, Geney Clayton and Earl Clayton; and a sister, Hazel Clayton.
