Chester County Junior High School Eagles Baseball are victorious over Adamsville

“It’s hard to beat a team that never gives up.” – Babe Ruth. This was by far the most intense head to head battle to date for this season.
Tucker McMahan started off the battle in the first inning after fielding a hard ground ball for a sharp throw to first baseman, Lane Estes. Though the runner was called safe, the relentless spirit that has made the Eagles soar all season continued to push them to continue to battle.
Dean Estes struck out the next three batters.
During the bottom of the first inning, the Eagles hit hard ground balls that were fielded by the Adamsville Cardinals to end the inning with a score of 0-0.
This back and forth battle would go on for four more innings, which led to Dean striking out 12 Cardinals and only allowing two hits.
It all came down to an extra inning.
With a 0-0 score, the Eagles were determined not to give up and displayed the true G.R.I.T. (Get Results. In It Together) attitude that has carried them all season. Dean struck out the first batter, but the second batter hit a line drive that would allow him to get a single.
The first base runner made the mistake of underestimating the Eagle catcher, Brooks Johnson, when he tried to steal second.
With swift action and awesome teamwork by Johnson and McMahan, the runner was caught stealing.
Dean would end up striking out the last batter, and the Eagles returned to the dugout with one goal in mind – “this is our field, and we are going to win.”
With a walk off single by Jace Goff that would bring in Jaden Weaver, the Eagles accomplished this goal and were victorious with an ending score of 1-0.
Where the varsity ended, the Junior Varsity started and finished.
Dhanin Patel and Alex Jones shared the hill with solid playing by only allowing one hit and striking out eight Cardinals. The Eagles would keep the bats and cleats hot all game long and would end the game with a win, 9-0.
The Eagles continue their season Thursday night at home vs. McNairy and Friday night at McNairy.
The Eagles will be playing a double header Monday night, April 5, at Jackson General Field against Medina at 5 p.m.
During this special game, the Eagles will be honoring and playing for Brett Wyatt, a courageous boy from Medina who is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The Eagles will be wearing an orange bracelet with “#BravelikeBrett” on it, and a bracelet will be given to each member of the Medina team.
Everyone is invited to come support the Eagles and show support for this amazing young man.
