Greetings from Hickory Corner!
After spending last Friday power washing my deck, patio and sidewalks, the storm blew in Friday night and took away all the work that Terry and I had done. We had quite a bit of hail out our way and woke up to twigs, leaves, etc., covering the deck, patio and yard. So frustrating as we had to do it all over again.
Yes, my son Terry is here visiting again. His wife Jo is visiting her twin sister in Florida, and Terry decided to spend some extra time here. I am always happy to see my kids. He brought his lab Cooper so my lab Ruger is one happy dog to have his Illinois pal to run around with. Terry is going to put blacktop sealer on my driveway while here. As always he has been staying very busy.
National Pet Day was this past Sunday. I hope all of you with pets gave them a little extra attention on their special day. My lab Ruger and cats Hobo Jo and Sammy Jo all got treats to celebrate their special day. If you have been thinking of getting a pet, do not forget to check out our local shelters to adopt a rescue. Pets can bring lots of joy to your life. Give me a call and tell me about your special pet.
I received a phone call from Mr. Jim Ruth this week. He is doing pretty well and enjoys talking to the community writers. We chatted about an Easter Egg hunt from years ago when he visited the Graves family in North Pekin, Ill.
There has been a rise in COVID cases throughout the United States. Although Chester County seems to be going in the right direction, it is important to still be careful. Folks, even though we have the vaccine, we must be smart and continue wearing our mask when necessary.
Did you know? I recently read that turning off the television and sitting quietly can have an impact on our health. Just two minutes of silence led to a drop in blood pressure. (AARP).
