The Chester County High School Eagles Soccer team has soared past every team in their district and has remained undefeated. On Friday, April 30, they played against Adamsville in the last game of the regular season and defeated them 1-0.
In the matchup, the Eagles player, Cade Thompson scored with 27:30 left in the first half, and that was good enough for the win.
The rest of the game consisted of the Eagles keeping possession of the ball and getting in the position of where they can score, but they could not get it in the net again. Nonetheless, the Eagles did not let the Cardinals score let alone get near the goal much.
Head Coach Bobby Helton explained that he knew this 2021 Eagles Soccer team was going to be good, but they have even outperformed his expectations.
“This team, more than any other team that I’ve coached, has overachieved. The expectations were for us to try and compete this year, and we have done more than that,” he said. “The kids have played really hard, and when our effort is there, we have proven that we can beat anybody. If we continue to put forth that effort and work in these games, we’ll continue to be successful.”
Now Helton and his team preps for the post-season competition with the hope of staying successful on the field.
