City of Henderson officials approve 2021-2022 Budget


When the Henderson Mayor and Board of Aldermen met on Thursday, June 10, they approved the 2021-2022 City Budget and tax rate on the final reading.
The property tax rate remains at $1.05 per $100 of assessed value.
The mayor and board of aldermen also approved that all full-time and all part-time employees shall be given a three percent cost of living adjustment.
Additionally, all full-time city employees are to receive Christmas bonus pay based on the number of years of continuous employment by the city in the amount of $50 per year with a minimum amount of $100.
The amount paid is based on the number of total years completed as of Dec. 31 of the current year.
All part-time employees will receive a flat bonus pay of $100.
The board also approved the standard pay scales for all city departments and an additional utility worker position for the Utility Department.
All pay scales, COLA’s and the additional utility worker position become effective with the payroll beginning June 28.
During the meeting, the board also approved an ordinance to adjust the sewer and water rates on the final reading.
Another ordinance that was passed was an ordinance that would allow use on appeal and set regulations for solar farms in the planning region.
The board tabled discussion on drafting regulations pertaining to livestock in the city.
