Chester County was put on the map this year after the local Dixie Belles and Dixie Sweetees both won their respective World Series. This is the first time in Chester County History that two teams won the same year. On top of that, though this is not the year that they played, the 1978 Ponytails team was awarded the World Series trophy as well since their opponents in the championship cheated by having older girls play. That made three teams earn the title of World Series Champions in the time period of about a month. “It’s just a great thing for Chester County Youth Sports,” said Chester County Dixie Youth President Mike Neisler. According to Neisler, this makes four teams total in Chester County that have won the World Series.
