COVID-19 numbers rise in Chester County


As of Monday evening August 9, a total of 2,400 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in Chester County since the beginning of the pandemic in early 2020. Of that number, 141 cases are currently active, an increase of 65 in just the past week. Total COVID-related deaths in the county remain at 51. The number of inactive or recovered cases is reportedly 2,208. The county also reports 30.44% or 9,756 local residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, an increase of 222 local citizens receiving vaccinations this past week, with 26.58% having received series completion.
Tennessee reports a total of 923,520 cases statewide with 874,590 recorded as inactive or recovered and 12,844 deaths related to the coronavirus. Tennessee Department of Health shows 45.8% of Tennesseans have received at least one dose of a vaccination regiment.
