Greetings from the City! I hope you had a wonderful week. The first thing I would like to do is give thanks to the Lord for another week. “O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good; for His mercy endureth forever.” – Psalms 107:1. It is always great to be with you one more week.
Next Monday, Aug. 16, will be the first day of classes for all seven counties of Head Start: Chester, Decatur, Hardin, Hardeman, Haywood, Henderson and McNairy. It is not too late to enroll your child. If he/she will be three or four years old by Aug. 15, 2021, stop by any of the Head Start buildings in any one of the counties for more information or call 989-5111 and ask for the Head Start department. You can also go on the website – swhrahs.org.
Congratulations to a very beautiful young couple who celebrated 13 years of marriage on Aug. 10. They have two lovely daughters. To Dantrail and Summer Brown, we pray that you all will have many more anniversaries together. Like I always say, “Keep the honey in the moon,” and remember that a family that prays together, stays together!
Speaking of family, there was a great gathering at the Hardeman House in Henderson to celebrate a very special lady! Ms. Pasty Jones celebrated her 70 birthday on Aug. 9. She was the Queen! By looking at her, you could not tell she was 70 years young. The city of Henderson prays that you will be blessed to have many more!
This week, I went on the Chester County-TN-Community Bulletin Board Facebook page. You know…there are some very good items and information on there. I saw where Cody Bolding announced that Chickasaw is having a co-ed softball league, someone needs their porch rescreened, someone needs their yard level, someone is looking for an electric stove to buy and the list of things people need goes on and on. So if you need some part time work or just need to do something nice for someone, go to the Chester County-TN-Community Bulletin Board Facebook page.
Sad to say another person that most of us know very well has passed. At some time he has come to our home to help us with our loved ones that has transitioned from this earth. He and his family have laid so many to rest; now, it is his time to rest. Mr. Earl Shaw, Jr. was such a kind and loving person. He will be missed but not forgotten. The city of Henderson is sending their condolences to the Shaw family, and we are praying for you!
The City would like to say happy birthday to Bianca Thomas on 8/20, Mayor Dwain Seaton on 8/23, Kim Scott on 8/25 and James Prather on 8/31. May the Lord bless you with many more birthdays
Continue to pray for our United States of America. Remember to pray for safe arrivals for our college student who are traveling to the college of their choice.
Try to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can.
