Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, composed of women educators, met Aug. 16. Lisa Beene, chair of the Dept. of Behavioral Sciences at Freed-Hardeman University, presented the program on the connection between personality characteristics and leadership style. Members completed a brief version of the True Colors personality inventory to determine their predominant personality style from the four basic styles assessed. Mrs. Beene then discussed how there is no one best personality style for leaders, but how different personality characteristics can be both beneficial and detrimental in different situations. Awareness of the impact of personality style on group dynamic can give the leader more influence and help them be more successful in accomplishing team goals.
