The Lambert family celebrated their 37th family reunion on the weekend of Sept. 4! Many of you in Silerton probably heard the melodious Elvis tunes drifting through the trees if you happened to be outside on Sunday evening. We took Otto out for a listen, and he seemed thoroughly impressed. The Lamberts traditionally have an Elvis impersonator serenade their event.
Mary Lynn Lambert shared the following news from the reunion:
“Forty-four members of the Mr. and Mrs. Clay Lambert family enjoyed a weekend of fellowshipping with family. They traveled from Florida, Indiana, Illinois and Ohio.
On Friday night local family members met the Illinois families at Old Country Store for a sit down meal to start the weekend. Saturday night the family enjoyed hamburgers and hotdogs and sides at the home of Frankie Lambert.
To finish off the evening, Bryan Howell did an Elvis performance. Sunday they finished the weekend off by enjoying a potluck meal at the home of Barbara Lambert. Kathy Lawson from Port Orange, Fla., was the member that traveled the most miles.”
Deepest sympathy goes out to the Lussier family in the passing of Donna Lussier. She was a beloved member of the community who touched so many lives. Her smile and her love will be greatly missed and certainly not forgotten.
