Chester County Cross Country wins Huntingdon Invitational Race

On Tuesday, Sept. 14 , Chester County Cross Country teams traveled to Huntingdon to race in the Huntingdon Invitational. The boys team walked away with a one point team victory. Carter Welch led the way for the Eagles with a second place finish followed by Garrett Robision (6th), Zach Roberts (25th), and Josh Roberts (29th). Stewart Brown made his season debut coming off an injury to seal the deal for the Eagles with a 53rd place finish. The Eaglettes were led by Julia Briggs who medaled with a 20th place finish at the race. Lilly Allen, Eden Burleson, Emma Eldridge, and Abby Sells rounded out the top 5 for the girls to finish 8th on the girls team race.
The top four of the boys team traveled to Huntsville, AL to compete in the Southern Showcase Saturday morning against some of the best athletes in surrounding states. Tucker Allen competed in the Championship Race placing 36th out of 245 runners while also setting a big PR of 15:48. Carter Welch and Garrett Robision ran in the Blue Race. Welch placed 10th out of 441 runners and Robision placed 116th both setting season bests at 16:52 and 17:59. Cade Thompson ran in the Crimson race and placed 64th out of 409 runners coming off a recent injury running an 18:53. 
The girls team will next race on Thursday, September 23 in Covington, and the boys will race Friday night in Memphis at Frank Horton Invitational.
