News from the Enville Community of Chester County

with Jan Johnson

Hello from Enville!
I hope everyone had a great week! The false fall, as the weatherman called it, was nice while it lasted, but the warmer temperatures are back. We only have two hummingbirds. I have taken all but one feeder down and have cleaned and put away the rest until next year. I usually leave one up for the passerby birds and the ones that just do not want to leave. We will miss watching them in the mornings, but my sugar bill will go down drastically!
September is gone, and October is upon us. It is so hard to believe that Christmas is getting so close. Personally, I love the Thanksgiving holiday, and we do not do any Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving. Sometimes I feel that it gets overlooked. We love the traditional Thanksgiving meal, and we so look forward to our family get-togethers. We do not do much for Halloween. Our grandkids are getting older, so the trick or treating thing is probably about over for us.
Enville sends out Happy Birthday wishes to our granddaughter, Reece Collins, and Matthew Maness on Oct. 3 and Florence Stublaski on Oct. 6. Happy Anniversary to Robert and Linda Johnson on Oct. 4 and Jimmy and Holly Robertson on Oct. 7. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
The Enville Community Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5. If you are interested in your community, please come. It is a potluck meal, so bring a dish and enjoy the program.
Please pray for the Shirley Lipford West family and the family, friends and co-workers of Matthew Locke, the law officer who lost his life in the line of duty in Hardin County.
Also, continue prayers for Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Doris Weeks, Eugene Springer, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Gail Durbin, Shirley Hampton, Mary Lee Guyon, Agnes Smith, Linda and Robert Johnson, Alice Starnes, Roy Middleton, Tim Harris, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Jo Marie Holmes, Janice and Danny Keen, Genny Sue Martin, Jimmy Robertson, Mitch Maness, Roger Henson, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, our schools and school board, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers and military, all those who have lost loved ones and, as always, each other.
If you have news to share, call me at 608-3058, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone!
