Courthouse lawn to show colors when ‘A Field of Flags’ returns


The Chester County Exchange Club- Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse presents “A Field of Flags” during November. As a celebration of Veteran’s Day, this magnificent display of American flags will be flown on the Courthouse lawn on November 1 – 12 to honor fallen war heroes, military personnel and American patriots.
Cost for each flag is $25, and for each person honored or remembered, an American flag bearing the honoree’s and sponsor’s names will fly on the Courthouse lawn.
Each flag will be 3 x 5 feet in size and attached to an eight-foot flag pole. On November 12th, flags can be picked up at the Carl Perkins Center.
Community members are encouraged to purchase flags to honor veterans, active military personnel, National Guard members, reservists, firefighters, law enforcement officers, patriots, or anyone who serves their community in an outstanding way. Flags can be purchased “In Honor Of” or “In Memory Of” someone and the honoree does not have to be affiliated with the military. Anyone can be honored during “A Field of Flags.”
All honorees will be recognized at the American Legion’s Veteran’s Day celebration at City Hall on November 11 at 11:00 a.m.
Flags can be purchased at the Carl Perkins Center located at 113 East Main St. in Henderson.
