November is here. Already the fall colors are awakening, reminding us of the beauty all around us. What a perfect month to host Thanksgiving. I love this quote by Gladys Taber.
“Some of the days in November carry the whole memory of summer as a fire opal carries the color of moonrise.”
Congratulations to Joseph Lambert and Rachel Thompson on their marriage Saturday, Oct. 30.
Piney Grove had a revival last week preached by Brother Jimmy Garrett. The church also had their annual barbeque on Oct. 30, followed by a hayride and games. Mary Lynn Lambert said, “Everyone enjoyed the costume dress.”
In upcoming events the fire department will be hosting a cookout at 6 p.m. Nov. 6. Local veterans will be recognized, and a gospel singing will follow the meal. There will be a town meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15. Christmas decorating in the park will be held Dec. 5. In the event of rain or inclement weather, decorating will be rescheduled for Dec. 6.
In health news Mike Tims is doing better.
