News from the Silerton Community of Chester County

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and got to spend time with family and loved ones. I look forward to seeing all the Christmas decorations around Silerton. It is so cheery to have our lights already up with the evenings getting darker so early.
A big welcome to Charles Lynn Hatch. He has moved to Hatch Lane in the Piney Grove Area. He will be living in his grandmother’s house (Sue Hatch’s home). The Silerton Baptist Church will be hosting a Christmas party Friday night, Dec. 10. Make plans to attend.
Abbey Cafferty, granddaughter of Larry and Anita Lambert, has officially been accepted at Vanderbilt. She will be starting in the spring and pursuing her PhD in Environmental Engineering. She will be working with a professor and a group that she says she has admired for a long time. Cafferty is incredibly passionate in this field of study saying, “Happy is an understatement for her.” This acceptance is a true Thanksgiving blessing. Cost of her schooling will be covered, and she will be paid a salary for five years.
Do not forget to come out and help decorate the city park for Christmas at 11 a.m. on Dec. 4. We welcome all our holiday helpers!
