Lauren Fitzgerald, managing partner of The Mom Complex, will begin Freed-Hardeman University’s annual ALUMination Day, Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at FHU’s 10:30 a.m. chapel session in Loyd Auditorium with other speakers scheduled for Friday, Nov. 8. The event kicks off FHU’s Homecoming celebration.
Fitzgerald works with global companies to help them innovate for and connect with their “mom” consumers. She has helped bring about numerous new products to make the lives of moms, women and families easier.
She has been named a Richmond icon by the Richmond Chamber of Commerce. She is also the recipient of Forbes’ GenNext Award and Marketing to Moms’ Full Circle Award. Fitzgerald graduated from FHU in 2005 with a major in communication and an emphasis in public relations.
Other ALUMination Day speakers Friday, Nov. 8, include Fitzgerald’s husband, Tony, who is an intelligence analyst with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The core mission of intelligence analysis is to identify and mitigate threats to the United States. Tony Fitzgerald is a 2006 graduate of FHU. He majored in accounting and management.
Additional FHU alumni from other disciplines will make presentations to students during ALUMination Day. The Division of Academics, in collaboration with the Division of Community Engagement and the President’s Office, hosts the annual event. According to Vice President of Academics C.J. Vires, the event provides an opportunity for current students to interact with successful alumni.
“ALUMination Day is a great day for all involved. It’s a tremendous opportunity for our alumni to share their successes with our students, and it’s a tremendous opportunity for our students to gain some wisdom and insights from our alumni. It really is a win-win for everyone involved,” Vires said.
